Classes are guided through the classic Sivananda 90 minute yoga structure, taught to me when I was living in the Sivananda Ashram, using 12 basic asanas, with a progression towards the 72 variations, bringing your energy, mind & body into balance. Understand the nature of your true self, calm your nervous systems, open your body & still your mind.
CLASS EXPLANATIONFull Sivananda 90 min Open to all levels - Covering breathing techniques, Sun salutation, classic 12 sequence asana practice, working towards the 72 variations, deep relaxation, designed to bring balance to the mind & body.
Asana - Is when a posture is held
Sun Salutation - Is when you flow through postures
IMPROVERS - Less explanation given, still working towards the full Sivananda sequence, gentle reminders & guidance towards the correct alinements. Moving towards working more within yourself, whilst staying longer and going deeper in the asana part of the class.
OPEN CLASS - Going deeper into your own practice. This is a full Sivananda lead practice with less explanation, there are variation suggestions for different abilities, however you should have an established, regular Sivananda practice & be able to work at your own level & pace, with your own practice, within a mix group. Must have experienced the beginners & Improvers before attending this class.
ASANA WORKSHOPS - assistance with anything you are working on, from headstands, balancing, general alinement or breathing techniques.
MEDITATION - This is a free session where I hold space for anyone/everyone to come & join me meditate or enjoy deep relaxation. I verbally guide you through the preparatory steps, we all remain in silence for the remaining 20-25min
1-2-1 - Private tuition for anyone wanting to work on their practise with individual attention and personal guidance.
